Hi, I'm Sofia.
I'm an Italian medical student, a language lover, and someone who has always been fascinated by the connections that can grow between people from different cultures.
Over the years, I've met people from all around the world through travel, volunteering and international experiences. Those encounters taught me something important: language is much more than vocabulary and grammar. It's a way of understanding people, sharing stories and feeling at home in new places.
That's why I created Beyond the Postcards. Not simply to teach Italian, but to offer a space where you can build confidence, explore Italian culture and discover the country beyond the stereotypes.
Whether you're taking your very first steps or looking for a deeper connection with Italy, I'll be happy to guide you along the way. I can't wait to meet you over a First Italian Coffee.

A relaxed online conversation where we get to know each other, talk about your goals and explore the best path for your Italian journey.
Duration: 45 minutes
Italian Journey
Personalized one-to-one Italian lessons designed around your goals, interests and learning style.
Flexible options are available, from individual lessons to longer-term packages and special options for university students.
Duration: 60 minutes
Italian Experience
Go beyond the language and explore Italy through culture, traditions, food, history and everyday life.
Current experiences include cooking together and exploring Rome — online or, when possible, in person.
Duration: 120 minutes
All lessons take place online via Google Meet. Bookings are available up to 24 hours in advance. If you need to reschedule or cancel, please do so at least 24 hours before the lesson whenever possible.
